Agua Dulce surf guide

Agua Dulce is a large, southwest-facing beach located within the Pinguino de Humboldt National Reserve. It can be accessed by long and slow roads that wind through scenic landscapes. This spot is known for its beautiful surroundings, with other smaller beaches like Playa Palocillo close by, offering a peaceful atmosphere for surfers looking to escape the crowds.

The surf at Agua Dulce is pretty laid-back, making it a good choice for beginners. The spot works best with small swells, around 1 foot (0.3 meters), and is ideal when the swell is coming from the south or west. You can catch both left and right waves breaking over the sandy bottom. The best time to surf here is during low to mid or high tide, especially when there’s a northeast wind blowing, which helps to clean up the conditions.

While it’s mostly a place for solo surfers who enjoy a quieter session, the beach offers plenty of space to spread out. Just keep in mind that it’s not always the most consistent spot, so checking conditions beforehand is a good idea if you want to get the best ride possible.
