Balnakeil is a long, exposed beachbreak that faces west, offering an average but roomy wave along an open stretch of sand.
When It Works
Balnakeil draws swell from west to northwest (W-NW) and is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft. Everything breaks over sand, peeling into both lefts and rights.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast (SE) offshore wind, though the beach can also hold up in some northerly wind. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The gentle, forgiving waves make this a friendly spot for beginners.
