Overview
Farmland is a fast, ledgy right that breaks over a mix of boulders and sand, and it suits bodyboarders best. Alongside it, a long beach holds a quality peak tucked into the corner, sheltered from north winds. The coast then runs on to Ince Burun, but that stretch is too steep and rocky to throw up anything worth surfing.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from northwest through north, and northwest (NW) is the direction to look for. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean it up. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Farmland is best suited to intermediate surfers who are comfortable with a quick, ledgy takeoff.
Access
Reaching the spot means dropping in off a dirt track, and the whole coastline can be hard to get to after heavy rain.
