Ouidah is a sandy beachbreak with both lefts and rights, sitting beside the fascinating town it shares a name with. A more attractive beach close by has marginally better potential and becomes surfable at lower tides. If the surf isn't cooperating, the nearby snake temple is worth a visit.
When It Works
The beach picks up swell from southwest to southeast, and a south swell is the best match. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind. It breaks on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Ouidah is a friendly spot for beginners finding their feet.
