1st Street is a well-known local surf spot, popular among surfers for its above-average sandbars. It's often crowded, so be prepared to share the waves. The best conditions usually come with a low incoming tide and some northern swell.

The spot works best with a north swell, but you can also catch waves with southern swells. It handles swell sizes around 2 feet (about 0.6 meters) comfortably, and the waves can break left and right over sand. Beginners will find 1st Street pretty accessible, especially during low to mid tides. The ideal wind direction is from the west, which helps shape the waves for a smoother ride.
