Overview
A Street is a sand-bottomed beach break that peels both left and right. It tends to be mushy on the outside before standing up on the inside, so you get a softer wall out the back and cleaner shape closer to shore.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from south through north (S-N) and lines up best on a northeast (NE) swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and because it always breaks a touch smaller than the surrounding spots, it can hold bigger swells that would overwhelm its neighbors. It's a consistently good option when there's swell in the water.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southwest (SW) offshore wind. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide the better call and higher water generally favoring the break.
Local Tips
This is a beginner-friendly wave, but be ready to share it. The lineup stays crowded all year round, so expect plenty of company whenever you paddle out.
Access
Parking is roadside and free, though the supply is finite and can be a hassle to find in summer. You'll have restrooms, a lifeguard, and a surf shop close by, and the Beachcomber at the end of A Street makes a solid stop for a post-surf bite.
