Overview
Aab is a sand-bottomed beachbreak that serves up both lefts and rights beside the Aab water desalination plant. It is a mellow, forgiving wave rather than a high-performance setup.
When It Works
Aab draws swell from the southeast through south, with south (S) swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, so small to moderate swells are enough to get it going.
Wind and Tide
Look for north (N) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The beachbreak can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a gentle, beginner-friendly beachbreak, and the peaks either side of the breakwalls hold the easiest waves for finding your feet.
Access
Conditions tend to improve as you head east from the airport, helped by a reliable coastal road. To surf either side of the breakwalls, arrange access with the employees of the Aab water desalination plant.
