Overview
Aberdaron is a fun beachbreak fronting a great Welsh beach, with defined banks anchored by patches of boulders. The standout wave is a right off the rocks at the northern end, though the beach hands out both lefts and rights. Watch for rips and jellyfish, which can be a hazard here.
When It Works
It draws swell from south to southwest, with southwest (SW) the best match. The break is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and really comes alive once it gets overhead.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to groom it. It surfs on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
A car park with paid parking sits right by the beach, and there are restrooms on hand. A pub and camping nearby make it easy to turn a session into a longer stay.
