Overview
Aberystwyth - Queens is a sandbar in the small bay just north of Bath Rocks, peeling both left and right over sand.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from southwest to west (SW-W), with southwest swell the best match, and works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for east offshore wind. It breaks on low and mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
It's a good bet when the surf turns stormy. Paddle out through the channel next to the reef on the left side.
Access
Park on the seafront, where there's free roadside parking. Watch out for the groin struts and sea defences at high tide. Restrooms and a surf shop are on hand.
