Aeolian Cove is a powerful left-hand reef break on Baltra. A chunky left wall sets up inside the cove and handles plenty of size, rumbling over the reef just a stone's throw from the airport terminal.
When It Works
Swell arrives from the northwest through north, and northwest is the pick of the directions. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, breaking left over an uneven reef. Consistency is moderate, so it comes together on the right swells rather than every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast offshore wind. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers comfortable taking on a powerful reef wave. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's on.

Access is by boat only, and parking nearby is restricted.
