Anaehoomalu Bay surf guide

Anaehoomalu Bay is a popular surf spot located in Hawaii, known for its scenic views and laid-back vibe. This spot is popular not just among surfers but also with wind and kitesurfers. The bay is right in front of the Hilton, making it easy to access for those staying nearby.

The surfing here mainly offers a smaller swell righthand point break that works best during NW swells, though you can catch a bigger left wave off the rocks at the south end during W-N swells. The waves generally handle sizes around 3ft (about 1 meter) quite well. The optimal swell direction is west, and the best conditions happen with east winds. Surfers can enjoy right-breaking waves over an uneven reef, which can be fun but requires some skill. This spot is more suited for intermediate surfers, so keep that in mind if you're heading out.

When considering tide heights, Anaehoomalu Bay offers good surfing conditions at low, mid, and high tides. Just remember that this area can get windy, especially with all the wind and kitesurfers around, so it's good to check the local weather before you head out. Enjoy your session!

Wind certainty

Wind certainty tells you how much the weather models agree on the forecast.

  • High certainty: Models agree closely; forecast is reliable.
  • Medium certainty: Some disagreement; conditions may shift slightly.
    • Low certainty: Models diverge; treat forecast with caution.

We calculate this by comparing wind speed, gust and direction from multiple models (like GFS, ECMWF, Arome, and Harmonie) and seeing how closely they match. They are weighted, meaning that some models count more than others, depending on how good they are for a certain spot.
