Antiques is a right-hand reef break in the Maldives, breaking over dead coral. It sits beside a narrow inlet between the islands of Gan and Gadhdhoo, next to Tiger Stripes, where the first local surfers are starting to ride the lefts and reforms. Antiques are the rights alongside them, running a couple of feet smaller and far more forgiving than those lefts.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest to southeast, so it lights up when there is size in the water from that window. It is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to keep the face clean. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
