Overview
Arenzano is a long right-hand point that peels over a mix of rock ledge and sand. Water quality here is poor, so it's worth being aware of before you paddle out.
When It Works
It draws swell from the south through west, with southwest the best direction, and it needs a big southwest swell to really switch on. Once it's firing, it works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind, though the wave stays surfable even in moderate onshore conditions. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-friendly wave with a local surf community in the water. Paddle out from the beach between the second and third pier.
Access
Leave Highway A10 at Arenzano and follow signs toward Savona; the wave breaks behind the town's soccer field. Parking is free, including roadside spots. For a surf check, the local surf shop can be reached on 010 9110849.
