Cabo Blanquillo is a left-breaking reef that peels over an uneven mix of reef and sand, and it needs some sand to get classic. It sits a fair drive south of Cabo Blanco and suits intermediate surfers.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through north (SW-N), and it lines up best on a northwest (NW) swell. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, giving a wide window of usable size. Expect moderately consistent surf, with the better sessions arriving when the swell and sand come together.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. The spot is very exposed to wind, so treat it as an early-morning or late-day session when the air is calmest. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup stays fairly quiet, helped by the drive out from Cabo, so crowds are rarely an issue here. It makes a solid alternative when Cabo Blanco is crowded.
