Cenitz is a rocky bay near Guethary with a defined left and a handful of rocky peaks. A fun left/right peak sits in the middle of the bay and comes alive at higher tides, and there's a solid right that shows up at bigger sizes. It breaks over uneven reef and sand, and with rocks scattered across the shelf it suits intermediate surfers rather than beginners.
When It Works
The bay wants a peaky swell and plenty of water to avoid closing out. On smaller or less organised days it can turn soft-shouldered and fail to connect, so it's worth a look around head-high with more north in the swell. Cenitz draws swell from west through north (W-N), with northwest (NW) the best match, and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. The bigger right is the one bodyboarders come for. Overall it's moderately consistent.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. Cenitz breaks on mid to high tide, with a rising push toward high tide generally the better call to keep the peaks from closing out.
Local Tips
Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working. The scattered rocks across the shelf keep this one firmly in intermediate territory.
Access
There's a car park with free parking plus roadside options, along with restrooms and showers. You'll reach it on tight, winding roads from Guethary and Acotz. During heavy rain, peak season, and late summer, a nearby waste water treatment plant can affect water quality.
