Overview
Chia - Il Pontile is a sandy-bottomed left that peels next to a local jetty. It serves up performance walls with sections to hit the lip and the odd barrel.
When It Works
The wave draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), with southeast (SE) the best match. Because it leans on easterly swell it can be inconsistent, but there are worthwhile windows when an east swell lines up. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind. It works through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a beginner-friendly wave, and that easy nature means the lineup is often crowded when it's on.
