Djeno Point surf guide

Djeno Point is a surf spot located about 30km (18mi) south of Pointe Noire. It’s a bit of a go-to for surfers when Côte Sauvage gets too gnarly, especially in the winter months. This place has a mix of lefts that peel in over a combination of uneven reef and sand bottom. Just a heads-up, Djeno is also known as an oil terminal, so expect to come across some tar balls while you’re out there.

The ideal swell direction at Djeno Point is from the southwest, but it can handle swells from the south and west as well. It works well with swell sizes starting from around 1ft (0.3m) and can accommodate a variety of tides, including low, mid, and high. Most of the waves break left, making it a decent spot for intermediate surfers looking to practice. If you're surfing, the best wind direction is from the northeast.

Remember that while Djeno Point can be quite mellow, it’s best suited for those with some surf experience. As always, be mindful of the local surf culture and enjoy your time in the water!
