Dolphinarium is a sand-bottomed beach break in Tel Aviv, sitting south of the Hilton in the Mahim district next to the old Dolphinarium building. The beach itself is fairly plain, but its curve gives it a northwest-facing angle that pays off in the water: it picks up wind swell better than its neighbours and holds up when a southwest wind is blowing. Both lefts and rights come through.
When It Works
Swell reaches the beach from southwest through north, and northwest (NW) is the direction that lines it up best. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.5 m / 5 ft, so there's a decent working window before it goes flat or gets out of hand. Consistency is moderate, meaning you won't score every session, but the good windows do come around.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind for the cleanest surface. The bank can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a friendly setup for beginners, and the lineup gets busy, so expect company on the peaks when it's on.
Access
Parking is easy here, which is a rare thing in Tel Aviv.
