Drummonds surf guide

Drummonds is a surf spot that sits comfortably between some rocky outcrops and pure white sands. It's known for its varying conditions, which can make it a bit hit or miss, depending on the day. Generally, it's a more laid-back spot, usually not too crowded, which is a bonus for those wanting to avoid the big surf crowds. The sandy beach can be a good place to hang out, and you can easily park your 4X4 on the sand right in front of the reef.

The surf here can be suitable for beginners and intermediates looking to improve. The optimal swell direction is from the SouthWest, but you can also catch some action with swells from the NorthWest. When it's on, you can ride some decent lefts as well as rights. The break works best with swells of around 2 feet (0.6 meters), but it can handle bigger days as long as the conditions are clean. The waves break over a mix of uneven reef and sand, so be mindful of the bottom. All tide levels, whether low, mid, or high, can produce rideable waves, especially when the winds are coming from the east.

If you're looking for a spot with some length to your rides, Drummonds can deliver that, especially on the lefts. When the conditions align just right, you might find some fun little sessions waiting for you. Just keep an eye on the sand distribution as it can shift, affecting how the waves form.
