Edmago Surf Forecast Guide

Edmago is a reef break wrapping a pretty oval bay of white sand and palms, with a left and a right peeling over live coral. The left is the standout, a top-drawer wall when it lines up, but it comes together only now and then. The adjacent right is more dependable and easier to catch, if less thrilling, so on most days you have a better chance of scoring the softer right.

When It Works

Edmago pulls in swell from west to north (W-N), and it's at its best on a northwest (NW) swell. The left in particular wants some west in the swell to fire. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, and it's moderately consistent, so keep an eye out for the windows when the reef switches on. Remember you're surfing over live coral, so treat the bottom with respect.

Wind and Tide

Look for south (S) offshore wind to clean up the faces. Mid tide is the call here, with a mid tide best and a rising tide generally the better of the two. Both the left and the right dislike the extremes of tide, so avoid the very top and bottom of the cycle.

Local Tips

This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a fairly quiet lineup, so there's usually room to find your own peak.
