When It Works
The break draws swell from north through east, with a north swell the best match. It is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and stays moderately consistent, so there are worthwhile windows when the setup lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south offshore wind. El Playon can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
