Overview
Entella breaks near the mouth of the Entella river, where a left peels off the jetty and a righthander sets up further north. The waves are fun and welcoming for intermediates, breaking over sand, though a few rocks are part of the deal.
When It Works
It's at its best on southwest (SW) swell, and picks up anything from the south through southwest (S-SW). Big southeast swells will also get it going. The break is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for north (N) offshore wind, though the spot will tolerate some onshore. It works across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a solid intermediate wave, and the lineup is rarely busy. Keep an eye out for currents when the swell picks up, and be aware the water can be dirty.
Access
Get in and out from the beach or the rivermouth. There's a mix of free, metered, and roadside parking nearby, and medieval Chiavari is worth a look while you're in the area.
