Faja do Belo surf guide

Faja do Belo is a less-known surf spot nestled between two bigger fajas. It's not the most popular location, but it offers a unique experience for surfers willing to seek it out. The spot is around a 20-minute walk from the Cubres car park, making it a bit of a trek but manageable for those looking to catch some waves away from the crowds.

The surf here is primarily left-breaking and is best when the swell is coming from the Northwest. It handles swell sizes up to about 5 ft (1.5 m), which can provide some decent action. Expect a challenging vertical drop that sets you up for speed walls and some intriguing barrel sections. While the strong SW winds usually shift to the south here, creating a more sheltered vibe compared to Santo Christo and Cubres, this place tends to cater to experts and adventurous intermediates who are looking for some fun barrels.

Getting into the water isn’t too difficult since the rocks aren’t too hard to navigate, but coming back in can be tricky with some strong currents and occasional jellyfish. The spot works well on low, mid, or high tides, giving you some flexibility depending on your schedule. Just keep your skills sharp, as this isn’t the place for beginners.
