First Parking Lot is a surf spot located off State Road 292. It’s the first parking lot you hit after you turn off the bridge, right across from Chad's Boarding House. When it comes to surfing, First Parking Lot handles swells from 1.8 to 2.4 meters (6 to 8 feet). The swell typically comes from the East, Southeast, or South, making it a decent choice when those directions are on the rise. The waves tend to be offshore, and the best paddling conditions are on smaller days. The bottom is sandy, so it’s not too harsh on falls, but getting out to the outside can be a bit of a challenge when the surf is up.
