Georges surf guide

Georges is a surf spot located about a mile of beachbreak right off Old Highway 101, positioned between the restaurants in Cardiff and Seaside Reef. It's a spot that suits surfers looking for a more laid-back experience, and it's not usually crowded. This location has been through some ups and downs over the years, but itโ€™s recently seen improvements thanks to beach-sand nourishment, which has helped it regain some of its previous quality.

This spot works best with small, peaky swells, particularly from the west, and is ideal when the tide is low to reduce backwash. It's known for handling swell sizes around 1 ft (0.3 m) and can pick up swells from various directions, including south and northwest. The waves here break over sand, creating nice beach breaks that offer both lefts and rights. When you're planning to surf, keep an eye on wind conditions; east winds are preferable to make for smoother waves.

When you get to Georges, parking is generally available along Highway 101, and you'll have the chance to find your own peak without too much hassle. Itโ€™s a good spot for those who want to avoid the busier breaks while still enjoying decent surf conditions.
