Overview
Goats is an exposed, south-southeast-facing beach break that breaks over sand and serves up both lefts and rights. A rebound wedge peels off the western headland, and there are a few more breaks nearby if you feel like exploring.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from the southwest through southeast (SW-SE), with southwest (SW) swell the best match. It handles any south swell up to overhead and often grooms some nice banks. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind, though northerly winds generally work here too. The banks break across all tides, with a rising tide usually the better call.
Access
There are three car parks to choose from and plenty of room to spread out. There's good camping nearby too, around the Calverts Lagoon Conservation Area.
