Goroneddu surf guide

Goroneddu is a lesser-known surf spot located in Sardegna, making it a hidden gem for those in the know. The beach is accessible by taking the Gonnesa-Portoscuso coastal road. After passing the Fontanamare-Masua cross-road, you’ll want to take a right at the second road. Once you get a glimpse of the water, park on the right side of the street and follow the trail down to the beach. It’s not overly crowded, but be mindful of the locals surfing here.

The waves at Goroneddu work best on Northwest swells, particularly with sizes up to 3 meters. You’ll find that the best setup is typically on the left, but it also offers some right-hand waves. The spot can handle swell sizes starting from 2 feet (about 0.6 meters) and often serves up faster barrels on the inside, which are great for more experienced surfers. The reef break adds some interest to the waves, but it does require a bit of skill to navigate, especially on days with stronger currents. Ideal wind conditions are from the east, and the spot can work at low, mid, and high tides.

When you're out there, just keep in mind that it can get a bit crowded, especially with locals, as this spot has become well-known among surfers. Watch out for urchins while you're in the water, and be aware that conditions can change quickly. It's definitely worth the trip if you're looking for something a bit off the map.
