Overview
Green Point is a right-hand point break sitting beside the Clansthal lighthouse on the KwaZulu-Natal coast, breaking over a mix of uneven reef and sand. Like many KZN right-handers, it needs the right sands to build up before it comes to life. When the setup lines up, it serves a combination of hollow and slopey walls.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through southeast (SW-SE), with south swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft and is a consistent spot when the banks are in shape. The classic session comes on a medium south swell paired with a light southwest or land breeze, which brings out those hollow and slopey walls.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind. Green Point can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.

Keep in mind this is a known car break-in hot-spot, so don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle.
