Guanico Point is a right-hand point that breaks over uneven reef, tucked into a quiet outpost with a restaurant and cabins.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southeast through south, with south (S) swell the best match. It needs low tide and some size to wrap into the protected southern corner of Guanico Beach, so the bigger, longer-period days tend to reward you. It works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, and the setup is very consistent, so there's usually something on offer.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean it up. It's best at low tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's on.
Access
There's camping, a surf school, and a surf shop on hand, plus free roadside parking.
