Overview
Hakashita is a hollow left that breaks over boulders on the reef in front of the harbour, sitting past a handful of other rideable peaks. There's a second reef peak just to the south if you want to look around.
When It Works
The wave comes alive on a solid swell from the east through south (E-S), with southeast the best angle for setting up a long ride down the reef. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and when the swell lines up right the wall can run a long way. Consistency is on the patchy side, so it won't be firing every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northwest offshore wind to groom the face. It breaks through the tide across low, mid, and high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave over boulders, so it rewards confident surfers who know how to handle a hollow left. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
Access
Getting in is easy, with a car park offering free parking right in front of the armoured coastline.
