Highcliffe surf guide

Highcliffe is a beach break known for its slow and crumbly waves. It's located in a spot that picks up more Southwest swell than some of the nearby piers to the west, but you might notice that the waves often lack shape. The surf can be pretty inconsistent, which usually means it’s not crowded, making it a relaxing place to catch some waves.

This spot works best with a Southwest swell, handling sizes from around 2 ft (0.6 m) and up. You can also catch some action when the swell comes in from the Southeast. The waves break over sand, offering both left and right rides, but be aware that they might not have the best form. For optimal conditions, you're looking at a Northeast wind and tides that can be low, mid, or high.

Parking is available above the beach for a fee, so plan ahead if you’re heading out. Keep an eye out for the rips and submerged objects in the area, as they can be tricky. Overall, Highcliffe is a spot that can cater to surfers looking for a chill session without too many crowds.
