Overview
Karang Haji is a mellow, longboard-friendly right that breaks over reef. In smaller swells it peels between the point and a rocky islet, and there is plenty of depth over the reef, which keeps the wave forgiving.
When It Works
It draws swell from south through southwest, with southwest (SW) swell the best match. The wave is usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, breaking over a mix of uneven reef and sand. It is a consistent spot, so rideable days show up fairly often.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The gentle, forgiving wave makes this a solid pick for beginners, and you can expect a fairly quiet lineup when it is on.
