Kennack Sands is a very sheltered, southeast-facing beach break that peels over sand with both lefts and rights. Its tucked-away, protected setting is the key thing to understand: it stays quiet unless there's real size in the water, so it's a spot that rewards patience and good timing.
When It Works
Because it sits so sheltered, Kennack Sands only comes to life on a chunky swell. It picks up energy from the west through north to east (W-N-E), with northwest (NW) the best direction to line it up. The working range runs from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, but given how much shelter the beach has, you'll want the bigger end of that window before it really starts breaking.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work through low, mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. Keep in mind the beach disappears at high, so the earlier part of the push tends to give you more to work with.
Local Tips
It doesn't break often, but when it finally does, the word gets out. Expect a busy lineup and some company on the good days.

There's a cafe and a car park right by the beach, with paid parking and restrooms on hand.
