Overview
Le Kérou is a rocky beachbreak in Clohars-Carnoët, on the west side of the Laïta river that divides Finistère and Morbihan. It can throw fast, sucky lefts that the local bodyboarders love, and it holds its shape when the swell pushes overhead.
When It Works
Breaking over sand, Le Kérou peels both left and right and draws swell from southwest to west (SW-W). It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, giving a useful window of surfable size. Consistency is moderate, so it won't fire every day, but it delivers when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean it up. The beach can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
Access
