Overview
Le Lizay is a reef break over an uneven rock ledge, working as a powerful left with a shorter, softer right that shows up at higher tides. You'll find it off Plage du Lizay. It's a demanding wave for skilled surfers only.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from west to northwest, with west the best match, and it can show near-perfect shape when that swell wraps onto the shallow rock ledge. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft and stays moderately consistent. If it's huge and onshore, head for Rivedoux in the southeast corner of the island instead.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast offshore wind to clean it up. The reef works on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave, so come ready for a heavy, ledgy reef. Expect a busy lineup when it's on.
Access
There's a car park with free parking.
