Overview
Lena is a long left-hand pointbreak and rivermouth in Tsuno that peels over boulders, and on the right day it can link into rides of up to 400 meters. There's still more reef to figure out in front of the harbour before the coast curves around toward Hakashita.
When It Works
Lena draws swell from northeast through southeast, with a northeast swell the best match. It takes some size and power, working from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and stays most lined up when the swell arrives from the northeast through east. It can be somewhat inconsistent, so it rewards patience when the setup comes together.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northwest offshore wind. The point can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-only wave that needs power and size to show its best. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
Access
Get in via the seawall away from the harbour, or come through the farms behind the break. There's parking to choose from, including a car park with free parking, paid parking, and roadside spots. Be aware the water can be polluted from both the river and the harbour.
