Lundy Bay is a remote beach break that rarely sees surfers. The waves break over sand and peel both left and right, leaving plenty of room to find your own peak on the days it turns on.
When It Works
It draws swell from the southwest through to the northwest (SW-NW), with a west (W) swell the best match. This is a spot that needs some size to come alive, working from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Consistency can be hit or miss, so it takes the right setup for the bay to line up.
Wind and Tide
Look for offshore winds from the south (S). It breaks on low and mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call. A bigger swell paired with low water tends to be when it shows its best.
Local Tips
The sandy beach break makes it approachable for beginners. Expect a moderately busy lineup on the occasions it works.
Access
There's a car park with paid parking, though you'll need to factor in a long walk down to reach the beach.
