Ostriconi is an isolated beachbreak tucked into the southern side of the Agriates desert, breaking left and right over sand along a beautiful stretch of white sand with a snaking rivermouth. It's a scenic, out-of-the-way setup that suits intermediate surfers.
When It Works
Ostriconi is at its best with small, clean swell. It draws swell from west to north, with a west (W) swell the best match, and works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft. It's moderately consistent, so it pays to time your session for the right window. Once the swell gets bigger it turns punishing, throwing up lines of whitewash and strong rips, so keep it to the smaller, cleaner days.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. A little west or northwest wind can also bring it to life, though it won't hold good shape for long. The beach works across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Expect a fairly quiet lineup most of the time, though the rivermouth draws a crowd in July and August. When the wind picks up, more waves break further south at Lozari, which usually turns on when the Mistral is howling.
Access
Ostriconi sits at the southern end of the Agriates Desert. You'll need to head down the cliff and walk a short way to reach the beach. There's a car park with free parking, plus roadside parking.
