Overview
Pailongge is a long right-hander that reels over coral reef in front of the village it takes its name from. It gathers just about any swell moving along this coast, and on bigger days the two hollow sections join up into one long, near-perfect wall.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through southeast, with a southwest swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft and stays moderately consistent, so the good windows turn up regularly without being a sure thing every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to groom it. The wave breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, with a sharp, shallow reef and live coral sitting close underfoot. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's working.
