Park Beach is a sandy beach break with both lefts and rights, sitting just north of the rivermouth. The waves break over sand, giving it a forgiving, approachable feel.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), with east swell the best match. Some of the sweetest peaks turn on in southeast swells, while the north end at Macauleys comes into its own on northeast swells and winds. It's a consistent stretch of beach that works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind to clean things up. Park Beach can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

With its gentle sandy peaks, Park Beach is a friendly option for beginners. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.

You'll find restrooms, showers, a lifeguard, plus a surf school and surf shop close by. Parking is straightforward, with a car park offering free and paid spaces alongside roadside options.
