Police Station is a sandy reefbreak in east Cabarete, sitting just opposite the police station it takes its name from. It breaks over a mix of uneven reef and sand and peels both left and right, making for an approachable setup that suits beginner surfers finding their feet.
When It Works
The break draws swell from north to east (N-E), and it lines up best on an east (E) swell, when the sand and reef combine to give the cleanest shape. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a decent working window across small and more sizeable days. As a consistent spot, it tends to have rideable waves more often than not.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The break works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
With mellow, forgiving waves, this is a solid spot for beginners. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working, with the occasional crowd gathering on the better days.

There's free roadside parking close by, so getting in and out is easy.
