Overview
Ponta da Belina is one of the state's best waves, a long, strong right-hand wall that peels over fingers of reef and sand. The thick, fast walls and feathering lip make it a high-performance right, with sections built more for bashing than ducking. How good it gets on the day comes down to the sand formation.
When It Works
Ponta da Belina draws swell from east through south (E-S), with southeast (SE) the best match, and it handles just about any size in that window, working from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft. In more easterly swells, a short left can peel off the peak alongside the main right. Consistency is moderate, so it pays to catch the windows when the setup lines up rather than expecting it on every check.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Pitched at intermediate surfers, Ponta da Belina comes with a reliably busy lineup of locals who know the set-up well, so expect company at the peak whenever it turns on.
