Overview
Punta Lobos is a right-hand point that peels over a mix of uneven reef and sand. It looks like an elongated version of neighboring El Cordon, sharing that spot's wind protection and running over an even sandier bottom.
When It Works
The point pulls in swell from west to northwest, and it comes together best on a northwest (NW) swell. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft and is moderately consistent, so you can expect worthwhile windows when the setup lines up rather than surf on every check.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast (NE) offshore wind to groom the wall. The point can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This right-hander suits intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on, and keep in mind that sharks have been spotted among the surfers out here.
