Overview
Ras Al Hadd is a sandy beach break on Oman's east coast, the stretch also known as the Pirate Coast. It sits along a straight run of sand that doubles as a green turtle nesting site, and that open orientation means it should pick up more swell than more sheltered corners nearby. Waves peel both left and right over sand.
When It Works
The east coast picks up south to southwest monsoon swells, and Ras Al Hadd takes swell from southwest through southeast, with southeast the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft. Consistency is the main catch here, so it can be somewhat inconsistent and rewards checking it when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind to clean things up. The beach can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

This is friendly water for beginners, and the lineup tends to stay quiet.
