Overview
Refugee's Rights is a right-hand reef break that peels across the pass from Refugee's Lefts. It breaks over dead coral and rewards speed demons who can race the fast close-out sections.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through southeast, with southeast swell the best match to line the wave up. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind to clean it up. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-only wave. The speed and close-out sections leave little margin, so it suits confident surfers who can generate pace and read the reef.
