Overview
Revolcadero is a right-hand point tucked close to the headlands of Punta Diamante, just around the bend from Acapulco. It's one of the more accessible and lively waves in the area, though not a standout by Mexican standards. Closer to the headlands you'll find cleaner conditions but less size; move south down the beach toward Barra Vieja and the size builds.
When It Works
The swell window runs from south through west-southwest to northwest (S-WSW-NW), with southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, so this is a powerful, expert-level wave when it fills in. Summer and autumn bring the most action, though it can be somewhat inconsistent between the good windows.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Revolcadero suits confident surfers and turns into a challenging ride once it gets big. Across the size range you can bring anything from a shortboard or fish to a funboard, longboard, or bodyboard. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on, with a somewhat reserved feel in the water.
Access
Getting to the beach can be tricky thanks to the exclusive resorts stretching across it. Once you're there you'll find restrooms, showers, a lifeguard, and camping, plus a car park with free parking and roadside spots.
