Overview
Robin Hood's Bay is a run of quality reefbreaks at the end of a long, exposed stretch of rock ledges. Waves break over the rock and peel both left and right, but there's a catch: they sit far enough out that the bay is rarely surfed.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast, with north swell the best match. It is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a west offshore wind to groom it. The reef works on low and mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Access
There's a small car park in the village, with paid parking.
