Scarborough is a surf spot that can be pretty hit or miss, depending on the conditions. It’s not super crowded, so you can usually get some space to catch your waves. For the surfing conditions, Scarborough works best with a south swell, picking up waves from both east and south. You can expect it to handle swells around 2 feet (0.6 meters) but it’s really only going to break well when the tide is low. The waves break over sand and can roll left or right, depending on the conditions. If you're planning on catching some waves, keep an eye on the winds too, as a west wind is preferable for the best surf experience.

Even though Scarborough can pick up some decent waves, it’s often better somewhere else when the conditions aren’t right.
