Scott Point Surf Forecast Guide

Overview

Scott Point is a sand-bottom beach break at the far end of 90 Mile Beach, a genuine swell magnet in a remote, exposed setting. It throws up both lefts and rights, and there can be a workable right tucked into the lee of the headland. Much of the time, though, it turns into a wind- and swell-battered mess, so it rewards patience and the right window. When everything lines up it's a decent, reliable option.

When It Works

It picks up swell from south to north (S-N), with northwest (NW) the direction that brings out its best. Being so exposed, it stays consistent and is rarely flat. The bank works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, but it really comes into its own with a small, clean swell and light winds; get it bigger or blown out and it's more of a mess than a session.

Wind and Tide

Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean it up. It can break through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

Local Tips

Expect a quiet lineup, often with only fishermen around for company. It suits intermediate surfers who are comfortable heading somewhere this isolated.

Access

Getting here means a 4wd trip out along the beach, with free parking once you arrive.
