Overview
Swift Street is a meaty right-hand reef that breaks off a remote-feeling bluff in a residential area, just outside Stockton Ave. The beach here is rocky and rugged, with seal rookeries scattered along the shore.
When It Works
This one is a big-swell wave, coming to life during large winter swells. It needs to be at least overhead to start breaking, so it favors size over frequency. The reef draws swell from south through north, with a west swell the best match. It works from 2.4 m / 8 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft, breaking over an uneven reef that keeps things a little unpredictable. Expect it to be moderately consistent when the season delivers.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind to clean it up. The reef can work through most of the tide, from low to high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Swift Street suits intermediate surfers. Expect a busy lineup when it's on, though it doesn't pull the crowds that Stockton does.
